James R. Brown, Principal and Chief Financial Officer

Jim Brown has served clients in the financial services industry for over 23 years. He joined Clifford Swan as a principal in 1999.

Jim has extensive background in trust administration and tax issues as well as financial accounting. In addition to supporting our Planned Giving practice, Jim is also responsible for overseeing the internal operations of the firm.

Prior to joining Clifford Swan, Jim served as Controller for Pilgrim Place in Claremont, a not-for-profit retirement community; was a Vice President and Trust Office for Terre Haute First National Bank in Indiana; and worked for the accounting firm of Ernst and Ernst as a supervisor serving both audit and tax clients including not-for-profit organizations, financial institutions and investment companies.
