S. DAVID ANDREW joined Clifford Associates in 1997, after 10 years with the investment counseling firm of Leland A. Parker & Associates, Inc., where he served as President and a portfolio manager. David's prior experience includes 15 years with major California banks as a Vice President and department manager in real estate lending. He is a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR). David received his BS from the University of Southern California in 1970 with a major in finance. He continued his education at UCLA, completing a program in real estate. PETER J. BOYLE, CFA, has 13 years of investment experience. Peter is a portfolio manager with an extensive background in tax and estate planning, and is an important contributor to the firm's research effort. Before joining Clifford Associates in 1992, he served as a Senior Trust Officer with Security Pacific National Bank. Peter is a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR). He received his BA from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987. JAMES R. BROWN joined Clifford Associates in 1999 as Chief Administrative and Chief Financial, bringing 25 years of administrative and accounting experience to the firm. Prior to joining Clifford Associates, Jim was Controller for Pilgrim Place in Claremont, a not-for-profit retirement community. Before serving at Pilgrim Place, he was Vice President and Trust Officer of Terre Haute First National Bank. Jim previously worked with accounting firm Ernst & Ernst, where he served a wide variety of clients including not-for-profit organizations, financial institutions, retail businesses and investment companies. Jim received his BS in business, with high distinction, from Indiana University in 1975. KENNETH H. DIKE, ESQ, CPA, joined Clifford Associates in 1997 after serving as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of a major Colorado non-profit institution for over 14 years, and providing consulting services to various non-profit institutions. Ken oversees the administration of planned giving assets for clients and brings to the firm legal, accounting and tax expertise on a wide range of issues including those affecting charitable remainder trusts and non-profit organizations. He received his BBA from the University of Notre Dame in 1978. Ken received his MBA in 1986 and Juris Doctor degree in 1996, both from the University of Denver. JAMES

offers 32 years of administration and investment experience to Clifford
Associates. Jim joined the firm as its President in 1986. He was previously
President of First Interstate Bancorp's investment advisory subsidiary
and President of two mutual funds including Pacific American Income Shares,
a closed-end bond fund listed on the NYSE. He was earlier with Lionel
D. Edie & Co. in Los Angeles and New York as Executive Vice President
and Director. Jim has served on numerous eleemosynary boards and represents
the firm's membership in the Investment Counsel Association of America.
He received his BA from the University of Colorado in 1960. RALPH E. WEIL, CFA, provides leadership to the investment research process and is also a portfolio manager, with 34 years of experience. Prior to combining his firm with Clifford Associates in 1996, Ralph was President of Sabl Weil Investment Counsel for 16 years. His prior experience includes a variety of investment and portfolio management positions at major west coast banks. He is a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR). Ralph received his BBA from Cleveland State University in 1970 and his MBA from Case Western Reserve University in 1971. BRUCE C. WHITE joined Clifford Associates in 1995, and brings 16 years of investment experience to the Clifford team. He works with individuals and institutions as a portfolio manager. Before joining Clifford Associates, he was a registered representative with Crowell, Weedon & Company. Bruce is a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR). He graduated with honors from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, receiving his BS in 1979. RANDALL L. ZAHARIA, CFA, joined Clifford Associates in 2000, bringing 19 years of experience to the firm. Randy's areas of expertise include fixed-income evaluation and equity research, as well as portfolio management. Before joining the Clifford Associates, he was a senior portfolio manager for First American Capital Management, where he managed over $300 million in assets, as well as providing substantial research support to the company. Prior to First American, Randy was a portfolio manager and investment analyst for the Los Angeles County MTA Treasurer's office where he managed fixed-income portfolios and provided analytical support to the authority's retirement plans. Randy has also worked for the City of Santa Monica's Treasurer's office as a senior administrative analyst; for Western Asset Management Company as a portfolio manager; and for Carnation Company as a cash manager. Randy received his Masters of Public Administration (MPA) degree from California State University, Long Beach in 1995, and his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration (finance and economics) from the University of Arizona in 1981. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts, and the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR). |
